Temping - the best way to work?

Temporary, contract and interim appointments

In today's climate temporary work is a valid and popular career option.  It could be that you are looking for work that has the flexibility to fit around your other commitments, or that you are looking for long-term temporary work to boost your CV.  Either way is valid and we have assignments to suit all.  In fact, more companies than ever are using temps in order to tactically increase productivity.

What are the benefits of working as a temporary employee?

Managed carefully, the benefits of temping can be greater than permanent work:

Financial - Temporary employees often find that because they are in high demand, they can command salaries that are greater than if they were to be doing the same job as a permanent member of staff.

Experience - Each assignment that you go on will add another string to your bow. In each workplace you will be doing something that can only enhance your CV.

Personal gains - Temporary work allows you to experience a wide range of workplace cultures that you can use to your advantage. However, perhaps more than anything temporary work allows you to manage your career, so that it is flexible, yet reliable.

OTHER WAYS TO WORK

Temp To Perm (TTP)

Even if you are looking for permanent work, temporary employment is a viable and sensible option. Over 60% of our temp vacancies at present are TTP. This means that if you are immediately available you should consider temping.

Fixed – Term Contract?

This is a vacancy that is for a pre-determined period of time, such as a 6 month maternity cover.

Due to the nature of contracts a commitment for the duration is expected. To this end, one months notice is the normal requirement to terminate the contract before the completion date.

Interim Appointments

Interim appointments are transitional periods of change within a business, such as: crisis/turnaround, re-engineering & transition, close down/sell-off/start-up, failed search appointment, acquisition management, etc. These positions would demand high calibre individuals with higher levels of remuneration to match.
